What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga Therapy is a prescriptive and collaborative approach to holistic wellbeing between therapist and client. The yoga therapist considers the individual needs, challenges and intentions that the client holds, while creating an appropriate treatment plan, which can include yoga poses, breathing techniques, relaxation practices, yoga philosophy, and meditation techniques. In this collaborative relationship, the client reports back on what is useful and helpful, so that a refined program can be developed.
A session begins with an assessment and evaluation, followed by a customized practice, and often a home practice plan. Follow up sessions begin with a conversation about what was helpful and any updates on goals and needs, then continued development of the personalized practice and home practice plan, which can include suggested reading.
Yoga Therapy is $125 per session.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between yoga and yoga therapy? Isn't all yoga therapeutic?
Most of us have experienced wonderful benefits from taking a yoga class or keeping a home practice, and consider it to be therapeutic. Unlike a general yoga class however, yoga therapy is an individual or small group clinical application in which a highly trained and certified yoga therapist considers your unique medical history, physical limitations, and personal goals to create a customized treatment plan.
Do I need to have previous yoga experience or be fit or flexible?
In a word...no. The beauty of working with a qualified yoga therapist is that they are considering your specifics needs and level of experience. Anyone can participate! Anyone can benefit!
What should I wear to a session?
Comfortable clothing that is easy to move and breathe in is best. It is also best not to eat a big meal just before a session.
